Add a watermark to a PDF
Mark a document before it leaves your hands: a diagonal CONFIDENTIAL across every page, DRAFT on a proposal that isn't final, or a client name on a review copy. The watermark is stamped into the page content itself — it travels with the file and survives printing.

The full app adds placement options (diagonal centre, header, footer) and page numbering. The quick tool on this page uses the classic translucent diagonal-centre stamp, which is what most confidential-document workflows need.
Watermarking never modifies your uploaded original — you always get a stamped copy, and both are deleted within 24 hours.

Can the watermark be removed later?
It becomes part of the page content, so casual removal is hard — but like any visible watermark it is a deterrent, not encryption. For access control, use Protect PDF.
Can I add page numbers instead?
Yes — the full app's stamp tool includes header/footer positions used for page numbering.
Does it change my text quality?
No — the stamp is added as an overlay; existing page content isn't re-rendered.
