Cookie Policy

Last updated: 18 July 2026

The short version: no cookies unless you say yes to analytics — and never for your documents.

Default: no cookies

Out of the box this site sets no cookies — not for sessions, not for advertising, not for analytics. If you never touch the consent banner, or you press Decline, nothing changes: zero cookies, zero third-party requests.

Optional analytics (only with your consent)

If analytics is active on the site, a small banner asks first. Only after you choose Allow analytics does Google Analytics load, and only then may it set its cookies:

  • _ga, _ga_* — pseudonymous identifiers Google Analytics uses to count visits and understand which tools are used.

Analytics never sees your documents, file names, or file contents — it records usage events like "a PDF-to-Word conversion succeeded", nothing more. You can withdraw at any time by clearing this site's browser data; the banner will ask again on your next visit.

What we use instead of cookies

The web app stores a few small values in your browser's localStorage (which never leaves your device and is not sent with requests automatically):

  • workspaceId — the random ID that groups your documents so only you can see them.
  • theme — your light/dark preference.
  • consent — your analytics choice, so we don't ask on every visit.

Clearing your browser's site data removes all of them. Clearing the workspace ID means documents in the old workspace become unreachable to you and are permanently removed by the 24-hour cleanup.

Advertising (when active — only with your consent)

If the Service shows ads, the same consent banner covers them and says so explicitly. Only after you allow it does Google AdSense load, and only then may it set advertising cookies. Declining keeps the Service completely ad-script-free for you — it stays free either way. Ad systems never see your documents, file names, or file contents.

Third parties

With consent declined (or the banner never answered), no third-party scripts, fonts, trackers, or embeds load — everything is served from our own domain. With consent given, Google Analytics (and Google AdSense, when advertising is active) are the only third-party scripts, under the terms above.

Consent standard

The banner implements denied-by-default consent (Google Consent Mode v2): every analytics and advertising signal starts "denied" and changes only on your explicit choice, which is stored on your device and can be withdrawn at any time by clearing this site's data. This is the consent model applied for all visitors — in India (per the DPDP Act's consent requirements), the EEA/UK, and everywhere else alike.
